Principle of technology

TVOC can be represented by THC or NMHC. Nutech 3000 uses catalytic oxidation + double FID technology to analyze THC and NMHC simultaneously.

Sample gas is supplied to the analyzer through 2 channels. FID 1 analyzes the THC concentration of the gas sample in channel 1. The catalytic oxidation module oxidizes NMHC to CO2 and H2O in channel 2, so FID 2 only analyzes methane concentration. The NMHC concentration is then calculated by subtracting methane from THC.

NMHC concentration = THC concentration − CH4 concentration

Beyond EN 12619

Similar analyzers available on the market are designed only according to the EN 12619 standard and are therefore only valid for flue gas testing (ppm level concentration), and can only monitor THC.

Nutech 3000 complies with EN 12619 but is also designed to meet the standards of other countries — it is widely used in the USA, China, Korea, Japan and the EU. Some countries require measurement at the fence line and in ambient air as well as flue gas, and some require both THC and NMHC.

Lightweight and integrated design

  • Highly integrated design (catalytic module, metal hydride cylinder, battery, zero air generators) keeping total weight within 12 kg.
  • Equipped with a backpack and a handle, easily carried and put into use by one person.
  • Analyzes THC and NMHC simultaneously in one unit.

Easy to use

  • Large capacity battery (45 Ah) that works for a long time in the field without mains power.
  • Removable touch screen terminal with Wi-Fi and a user-friendly interface.
  • Control the device and read results within 50 m (33 ft) of the site.

High test efficiency

  • Preheating time under 5 minutes.
  • New catalyst achieving ≥95% conversion efficiency.
  • Dual FID measures THC and NMHC continuously without changing the gas flow; NMHC results as fast as every second.
  • Fast gas path cleaning (Purge).

Accurate test results

  • The whole path from sampling tube to FID detector is heated, avoiding condensation loss of hot, humid samples.
  • The sampling flow path is silanized — highly inert, resistant to high temperature and corrosion — with a filter assembly against particles and adsorption.
  • High precision EPC and FID for accurate flow control and measurement.
  • Automatic and manual cleaning keeps the system clean.

Lowest operating cost of its kind

  • H2 from a very low pressure mini built-in metal hydride cylinder — safe to handle and transport, and recyclable.
  • Zero air supplied by an internal pump; an external cylinder is also supported.
